Explore Morocco Route 8 days and 7 nights from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga Desert
Day 1: Fes
Airport pickup and transfer to the Riad / Hotel. Rest of the day free to visit this beautiful city.
Day 2: Fes – Fes
After breakfast, the day will be especially dedicated to the visit of Fes. This beautiful city is divided into three zones: Fes el Bali, the old part. Fès el Jdid, the new and Ville Nouvelle, the French side. People who visit this city are completely enthralled by is one of the largest medieval sites full of endless streets. Here are many things to visit: The Mellah, the Jewish Quarter, the Plaza of the dyers, Fes el Bali, the medieval medina of the city, Fez el Jedid, the new medina of Fes, the Andalusian Mosque, and many more sites.
When the day ends, we will move to the riad where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
We will go toward the desert along the way Merzouga. We will find a town called Ifrane, a charming and totally different from the rest of Morocco where is the Cedar Forest, here we can see a lot of monkeys where we can feed and enjoy the many cedars that bring this forest. We will go through Midelt, located between the Middle Atlas and the High Atlas, we will stop for lunch and continue the route. We will continue the road to Erfoud crossing the ZizValley. Then we will drive to Merzouga where will you leave your luggage at the hotel and go to the desert by camel. Once in the Haima, you will have dinner and hear the drums echoing in the desert night and lie down in the tent.
Day 4: Merzouga – Khamilia – Nomad villages – Oasis – Erg Chebbi
The next morning you will wake up early to watch the sunrise. At midday, we will visit a nomad family. We will eat under the shade of a tree, you will see how the Berber pizza is made and then will taste it. After lunch, you will rest for a while , and later we will make a route through the desert. We will see an oasis in the desert in 4×4, also visit the town of Khamlia ( village of the blacks) mines MIFISS and meet the Berber nomads of the desert… Then you shall return to the Camp , you will have dinner, play music again and will be staying in the tent.
Day 5: Erg Chebbi dunes – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley:
The next morning we will wake up early to watch the sunrise. After camel trekking, a good shower and a good breakfast we will head towards Marrakech, through Rissani an important town that caters to around food, animals, crafts…
We will continue to Todra Gorges, through the vast palm grove of Tinerhir, where agriculture stands out, date palms, crafts … Later we arrive at the gorge. Here we can see the spectacular landscape for thousands of years has been forged thanks to the river that crosses.We will continue down the road of Thousand Kasbahs, named for the great palm Skoura, accompanied by hundreds of Kasbash year that we will see along the way. Let’s enter the Dades Valley and can admire the hundreds of kasbahs dotted along the route. We continue on river road entering the narrow valley. We will make a stop to enjoy it. Here you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou
After breakfast, we will pass the oasis of Skoura crossing the Valley of Roses formed by hectares of roses whose aroma can be seen throughout the month of May. Here you can see beautiful scenery. We will continue to the fortified city called Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1987 and where various famous movies have been made as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Mummy…
Later, we will travel through the Tizi N’Tichka where we will stop to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. At the end of the road, we will arrive at Marrakech at the riad. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Marrakech – Marrakech
After a big breakfast, you will have the opportunity to visit by yourself or if you wish with an alocal guide. What to say about this great city, a city full of life. There are large and interesting things to visit such as:
Zocos: with narrow streets, full of smells, feelings … souks of leather, metal…
Jamaa el Fna square: during the day you will find positions juices, nuts … and at night is filled with food stalls where you can enjoy typical Moroccan food.
Koutoubia Mosque: This is the most important mosque in this city but access is not allowed for non practitioners of Islam.
Bahia Palace: The palace building and this was done in over a decade, and its interior is full of rooms decorated majestically. A must see.
These and many other things to visit in Marrakech. Dinner and sleep in the place of accommodation.
Day 8: Marrakech – Airport
Breakfast at the Riad. Free day until the agreed time for transfer to the airport. End of our services.
