Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi-n-Tichka – Kasbah Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley
Departure from Marrakech towards AIT Benhaddhou, crossing the High Atlas mountain range and the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m above sea level), beautiful mountain landscape where we will find numerous Berber villages that have maintained their authenticity over time. Then we will arrive at the fortified village of Ait BENHADDOU, with its beautiful well preserved Kasbha, located on a small hill, which belonged to the Pacha de Marrakech “El Glaoui”. Within these ancient walls we can admire an example of a typical southern architecture of Morocco and try to imagine the lifestyle of the past. In this delicious Kasbha were shot the most famous films set in the desert. We will continue on our way and stop for lunch in the village of Ait Benhaddou. In the afternoon we will visit the palm grove and the SKOURA Kasbha Amridil near Skoura. Also this Kasbha is very well preserved, and deserves a thorough visit to admire its beautiful traditional architecture and surrounding landscape. The journey continues towards VALLE DEL DADES and VALLE DE LAS ROSAS. Area known for its immense cultivation of apricot roses, a small and very fragrant rose from which the local population draws the essence to make water from roses, perfumes, creams and other diverse elements based on the rose. We will visit THE VALLEY OF DADES which will not fail to surprise us for the conformation of its mountains and the passage of the road through a large rocky canyon where life seems to have stopped. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Dades.
Day 2: Valley of Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Desert of ‘Erg Chebbi
After breakfast we will resume our march towards the Dades valley and cross the impressive Todra gorge, a deep red rock gorge carved by the Todra river. The journey continues in the direction of the small town of ERFOUD a place in the desert that offers us the opportunity to admire the work of local fossils, as this area rich in fossil stones. We will continue the journey to the desert of Erb Chebbi. We will arrive at the village of MERZOUGA in the afternoon and take a camel ride to the dunes of the desert to admire the sunset, it will take about an hour to arrive. After dinner under a blanket of stars and then spend the night in Berber tents.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – The Draa Valley – Marrakech
We will wake up early to see the incomparable sunrise. Then we will return with our camels to the Riad where we can have breakfast and take a relaxing hot shower to continue on our way. We will take a walk through the charming market of Rissani (Morocco’s first imperial city), the largest market in southern Morocco. We continue our way to the Draa Valley and visit the Kasbah of TAMNOGALT, in the heart of the Valley. We will cross again the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech at night. We will accompany you to your accommodation. End of our services.
